House Project-Complete!
The majority of our house project was completed just a few short days before our huge MN snowstorm! We were so thankful that the timing worked out perfectly! We are also incredibly thankful for all of the help we received from our neighbors and friends! So many skillful hands were involved in helping us tackle this enormous project! In the pictures above, you can see the garage door is finished, but the front door isn't as visible-it is a fiberglass door, but looks like mahogany wood. It has a dental shelf and leaded glass on the upper portion. We have two more garage fixtures to install, as well as a storm door to install in the spring. It sounds crazy, but the outside project has fueled our ambition to tackle indoor projects this winter! We've already painted two bedrooms and put up curtains. We have many more projects yet to come, but are looking forward to taking a break to enjoy Christmas! :)
House Project-End
The last phase of the project started after the house had been wrapped in Green Guard, "Raindrop," building wrap. It took Ryan, myself, and yet another neighbor quite a while to finish wrapping the whole house. Once it was complete, Ryan worked with our friend Dan to install all of the siding. The siding is a vinyl shake siding on the front, and a wider reveal plank siding on the sides and back of the house. The color we chose is called "Coastal Sage."

House Project-Beginning
In the beginning phases of our house project we were removing the 70's brick off the front of our house, while coordinating schedules with the window company. It was also when we realized what a challenge we would face as the sun began to set sooner each night! (If you would like to view the pictures larger, simply click on the photos.)

Phase 1 is done, and 2 has begun
Phase 2 of our road construction project has begun. Now that all of the underground work (water main, storm sewer, etc.) is finished, a new crew has come to install cement curbing. Today is the first day of curb construction and they did our side of the street this morning; now it has to cure for 7 days before we can drive on it. The above picture was taken looking out our front door. The over-all project is projected to end on time in early October. We'll be happy to drive on our roads and park in our driveways again when it's all done! :)

phase 1 has begun
The first phase of construction is underway. Construction crews have demoed the old asphalt road and are digging 15 foot deep holes in our boulevards/ street to replace the sewer main and plumbing up to the property lines. We are so happy to be getting new roads that no one seems to mind the rattling, beeping, and loud noises.
