Up North Vacation

This is a picture of Ryan at the top of the high falls at Tettagouche Sate Park.

Hiking through the Boundary Waters, up to Eagle Mountain (the highest point in MN).

Ryan and I recently spent 5 days on the North Shore of Lake Superior. For two nights we stayed at the Two Harbor's Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. We were the "assistant keepers" and truly enjoyed our time living in a lighthouse! The other two nights we stayed in a cabin near the lake outside the town of Tofte. It was a busy vacation, we: golfed Enger Golf Course in Duluth, fed deer right from our hands, toured and enjoyed the lighthouse, ate out a lot:) , hiked at Tettgouche State Park looking at several water falls, swam in the Temperance River where some were cliff jumping, spent time in Grand Marais, ate at Sven and Ole's, hiked Eagle Mountain, golfed Superior National Golf Course by Lutsen, and enjoyed Palisade Head (a large cliff overlooking Lake Superior). It was a great trip. More pictures are located on our Flikr site, just click on the Flikr badge on the left of the blog. I will also have some nightime pictures of the lighthouse coming to the blog as soon as our friends from the lighthouse send them to us.

Summer Days :)

My Aunt Cheryl recently asked how the garden was growing, so I thought I should post a recent picture. As you can see, the garden is doing well! My tomatoes got a bit tall this year, but seem to be producing plenty of tomatoes. We've eaten green beans twice now and continue to enjoy them. The herbs have been great for cooking, and I look forward to eating the carrots, cucumbers, peppers, and potatoes once they are ready. My wild flowers from last year are doing great and add a punch of color to the backyard. Recently, Ryan hung a hammock in the back yard between two trees, with a view of the garden, yard, and field behind our house. We've both spent many afternoons and evenings relaxing in the breeze, enjoying summer!
